Here’s a delicious recipe for Pork and Pineapple Burgers that combines savory pork with the sweetness of pineapple!

Ingredients:

  • For the Pork Patties:

    • 1 lb (450g) ground pork
    • 1 small onion, finely chopped
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
    • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • For the Pineapple Topping:

    • 1 fresh pineapple, peeled and sliced into rings
    • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
    • 1 teaspoon lime juice (optional)
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • For the Burger Assembly:

    • 4 burger buns
    • Lettuce leaves
    • 1/4 cup mayonnaise or aioli
    • Optional: Sriracha or hot sauce for a spicy kick

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Pork Patties:

  • In a bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped onion, garlic, smoked paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are fully combined.
  • Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  • Remove from heat and set aside.

2. Grill the Pineapple:

  • Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  • Place the pineapple rings on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until grill marks appear and the pineapple becomes slightly caramelized.
  • If you want extra sweetness, drizzle with honey and a squeeze of lime juice, then season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

3. Toast the Burger Buns:

  • Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

4. Assemble the Burgers:

  • Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise or aioli on the bottom half of each toasted bun. For a spicy twist, you can mix a bit of sriracha or hot sauce into the mayo.
  • Place the cooked pork patty on top of the mayo.
  • Add a grilled pineapple ring on top of each patty.
  • Add a lettuce leaf for crunch, and top with the other half of the bun.

5. Serve:

  • Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite sides like fries, coleslaw, or a simple salad.

Enjoy your Pork and Pineapple Burgers with the perfect balance of savory, sweet, and smoky flavors!
